December 2012

The first time we got snow this winter Ty and the kids shoveled it all to be able to make a snow man and then a snow cave.   Christmas was fun.  Ty and I put up the tent and hand to tie it to pieces of furniture to get it to stand up.  He's AWESOME!  The kids were confused to not see any presents under the tree.  We put them all by the tent, but they found them.  Chloe learned how to stick her feet through her crib slats.

For New Year's eve, we cleaned out our storage room.  Ty cut a whole in the wall to find the water shut off that was sheet rocked over when they finished that room.  Again, Ty is awesome and helped me do this project.

November 2012

I have had lots of parenting experiences.  In the pictures above, Wes got mad, and he threw over the trash can, so he got to pick up most of it.  I helped him with the egg shells.  He looks happy, but he wasn't.  I held strong, and he eventually realized that he had to clean it.

We went up to the cabin after Thanksgiving.  We stopped at the Brigham City temple and took pictures.  We went to the open house a few months earlier, but it was very busy so we came back and enjoyed the grounds.

October 2012

Ty's parents left on a 6 month mission to little Rock Arkansas in October.  They send us weekly emails with pictures, which we love.

We turned into landlords over their three rental properties while they are gone.  This has been very busy, especially for Ty because he has been over there often fixing something.  I've heard general authorities say that you bless your family by leaving on a mission.  This has been true.  We've had many blessings even though it has been challenging without the Cravens.  They are so helpful to us.  Being landlords has been challenging too.

Ty's employer sold the company to one of their customers.  Harmony Concepts became a member of the Rhema Group (from Canada.)  It is in transition period.  Ty worked hard keeping his guys busy because the schedule didn't have enough work.

The kids and I got to spend a day with "Uncle Parker" in Provo.  We toured the campus, ate BYU ice cream.  It was so much fun.  We love Parker.  He is awesome!!!

We went with Wes's preschool class to the pumpkin Patch.  Below is a picture of Wes with his teacher Ms. Helen.  The boys had so much fun.  Grandma Judy came along to help.  

The kids had fun Trick-or-treating.  It was warm.  We had hundreds of trick or treaters.  I ran out of candy.  Chloe stayed with me and helped me hand out candy.  She got so excited to see people.  I suggested that the kids stay home and hand out candy.  Jackie said no way.

Cooking potatoes

The last post was about cute things the kids say/do.  This one is about something the kids have to learn.  Tommi is my little helper.  He is constantly saying, "I help.  I do."  I have realized that there is never really a good time for him to help, and I have really changed my perspective to focus on teaching rather than focus on getting a job done faster.  So, as I was preparing potatoes to bake them in the oven, he of course wanted to help.  I took the time to show him how to wrap it and poke it.  He took it and was practicing.  I took my eye off him.  When I looked at him again, he was poking Baby Chloe.  I put him in his crib for time out.  Chloe was screaming.  She ended up with marks on her neck where he had poked her.  He needs 100% supervision.  I can't turn my head any more.

Jacki and Wes have kid tablets.  There is a game about brushing your teeth.  Jacki said that she turned the music on as she was brushing her teeth.  I thought that was cute.  Tommi likes to imitate the other two, and he was playing with Jackie's tablet while she was at school.  Wes took it upon himself to take Jackie's tablet away from Tommi.  Tommi bit him on the back.  Wes cried a lot.  He went to preschool and came back happy.  He loves Miss Helen's preschool.

Cutism

Kids say a million cute things in a day.  I am going to refer to them at cutisms and try to write them down more.  Today the kids were looking at a map of the United States.  Jacki was telling Wes what the states were.  She came to me and asked what started with NV.  I told her it was an abbreviation for Nevada.  "Oh, she said, (as she processed my answer.)  we thought it was for Neverland.  Wes, NV is for Nevada, not Neverland."

Chloe is watching me work.  She is my supervisor.  I propped up her mirror toy so she could see herself.  She is cooing and smiling....I love it!
