Seat belt is too small

Tyson really liked this story I'm about to tell, so I thought I better document it.

A couple of weeks ago I was driving the kids somewhere, and my seat belt would not go around my belly. As I started wondering what happened overnight and how I was going to get through 6 more weeks of pregnancy, I was relieved to look to my left and see my seat belt stuck in the door.

This baby is active. She responds when you touch my belly, especially when Ty touches it. The kids are ready for her to come. Jackie told me that she is so excited because she will get to go to grandmas house. Chloe is also riding low and giving me varicose vein pains. Starting this week, I'm forced to wear the compression hose. Ty said they make my legs look skinnier and my belly look smaller. I'm sure the do, since they are super tight. I got them fitted, so I know they are the right size. I guess they have to be tight to compress the vein. I've been humbled to have my mom help with the kids and the house, and my neighbor took Jackie to school yesterday. I'm realizing that with the pains of life, I learn a lot more than when life is pain free. I've learned to pray and see what I should be learning and what I should change. I've been taking it easy the last few days and reading the book "Thou shalt Prosper"- about Jewish customs and finances. I already thought I was taking it easy, but now I really am, and I'm thinking about motherhood and this new baby and where she is going to take our family. I'm grateful for this experience.

Busy year Already

Valentines Day 2012

This was the first big Valentines Day for us. They do a big party at school and let the kids exchange valentines, so Jackie looked forward to this for weeks. She was supposed to write all the kids names on the valentines. That was tortuous for me. We had to do a few at a time.

Jackie's teacher asked me to help with the party. I was happy to help but didn't have time to find a sitter for the boys. She said they were welcome to come. Tommi wanted to do everything (take pictures, play the game, etc.) I don't think I'll be asked to bring them again. Wes joined the kids, so he wasn't too bad until the end.

Jacki is showing off her bag she decorated. That was a good suggestion the teacher gave...easier than a box. We made a valentine for dad. Jackie wrote him a message and we dropped it off at work. I put a picture of the kids valentines. They loved the chocolate filled hearts. They liked the cereal too. Holidays are the only time they get the sugar cereals. My grandma and grandpa gave us a box of fun cereal every Halloween. We loved that, so I've started doing that.

.
The highlight of our month was Jacki's sixth birthday. We had a family party at Jungle Jims. It's an indoor playground, and the kids had a blast. They left crying because they wanted to stay. Ty rode rides with Tommi. He is so cute with the kids. I wasn't up for any of the rides, and thankfully pregnant ladies aren't allowed to ride them. We got an unlimited pass, and they got their money worth. Tommi really liked the indoor playground. He kept going in and out of the entrance. It was funny to watch him.

These last two pictures have to do with the 100th day of kindergarten, which celebration fell on Jacki's birthday. The kids had to make something with 100 pieces. Ty and Jackie came up with the idea to make a pistachio shell necklace. I know I've said it before, but besides being a great husband, Ty is such a great dad. He drilled 100 holes in the shells. I helped out by eating the nuts. It worked out well. They had enough for a bracelet too. The substitute teacher at school told Jackie she would wear that jewelry. Jackie had a fun day at school. The kids all brought 100 pieces of cereal and got to eat cereal. Jackie picked out cupcakes for her treat. It was also music time. I played the piano that day, so I stayed all morning to help out with the class. It was fun.

Jackie got to go shopping with Grandma Paula in the afternoon. She was so excited to buy her Jessie doll. She has been saving, and Grandma Paula gave her the rest of the money she needed. (Those toy story dolls are expensive.) She had a great time.

Jackie really wanted a barbie cake. I procrastinated ordering it, but the local grocery store pulled it off. I let Jackie pick everything...the colors, the cake. She picked red velvet cake. It was interesting. It was adorable though, so we didn't care that it didn't taste that good.

The grandparents and Aunt Lauren came over at night. Jackie said she got everything she wanted. She is still pretty easy to please. It was a big day. I was worn out the next day, and my sweet neighbor called me to see if she could help me clean my house because the next day I was having a baby shower for a friend in the ward. What an angel!!! It was a big week We are very blessed.
