Chloe made the tax deadline

Chloe was born on April 15, 2012 11:15 pm (we were tired)
9 lbs 7 oz
21 inches

She came on tax day.  We let her come on her own (the midwife did check me that day, which may have encouraged her.)  This whole pregnancy was different.  I focused on nutrition and exercise and ate nasty supplements like desiccated liver powder.  My varicose veins got bad, and I had to wear support hose for the last month.  I chose a home birth with a midwife.  It was the right choice for Miss Chloe, Chloebug as we’ve nicknamed her.  She came so fast.  I didn’t have labor contractions, she just started coming (I felt intense pressure) and within 2 hours she was here.  I had planned on a water birth, but there was no time.  Her birth revealed her personality.  She is all or nothing (zero to sixty in 3 seconds.)  She is happy or mad, no in between.   Ty cut her cord.  The whole experience was simple- ordinary miracle.

Chloe is a good sleeper, only wakes me up once early in the morning.  She and the kids have been sick almost constantly since she was born.  She had an ear infection her first couple of weeks and was on an antibiotic.  We blessed her the beginning of June.  It was a sweet and short blessing because she was squirming and Ty was afraid of dropping her.  He blessed her to get married in the temple, receive all the blessings she needed, etc.  I love to hold Chloe and let her sleep on my chest.  I put her in a wrap and she can sleep while I carry her.  Sometimes she wakes up when I lie her down to nap.  She has been smiling tons, which is sweet.  Tommi says “hode her.”  All the kids love to hold her.  I help them.  She doesn’t like it too much.  Sometimes she gives Ty a hard time when I leave, so I don’t leave her much.  I don’t bathe her in the morning because she always poops through an outfit, and then I change her.  The other day jacki asked if she could pick out Chloe’s second outfit of the day after she pooped through her first one.
