Yellowstone: aka an amazing National Park

This was our first family trip up to Yellowstone.  Meg, her two kids, and Parker went too.  We had such a great time.   Some of the sights included Hot Cascades, Black Warrior Lake, Gibbon Falls, Lower Falls, Upper Falls, Tower Falls, Black Dragon's Caldron, Dragon's Mounth Spring, Petrified Tree Mud Geyser, and Sulphur Caldron.  We took the long way up there, and by the time we finally got to Yellowstone (after 9 or 10 hours in the car) Jude was screaming.

We did a lot of driving up there too.  We drove the loop and stopped at some of the places, but I did not remember how much is up there.

Mammoth Hot Springs

Ty got to see this animal and this sunrise one morning

This guy did a lot of walking

This looked like snow.  It was a big hike for us

Getting tired but having fun
There were several terraces.  You can drive to the top, but we walked it, and by the end, the boys were so tired.

This was the warmest day we had up here

Old Geyers is what mom remembers from childhood trips here.

Free- loader.  Here we are hiking from Old Geyser to other Geysers
The day we went to Old Faithful was the warmest and clearest.  The other days were rainy.  The kids walked much better on the cool and rainy days that on the warm one.

These two had fun picking flowers.  They received a notice that warned them not to pick any more flowers....
Ty called them "Eco-terroists."  haha.  I wish we had kept the note.

Our Amazing Cook

We had an accident at camp.  While Ty was cooking in Dutch Ovens, Chloe climbed up on her chair and fell onto the dutch oven.  Her chin instantly burned.  Ty grabbed her.  The doctor said she was pretty lucky it wasn't worse.

Rainy Day.  Chloe was asleep so she and mom stayed in the car for this hike.

Not afraid of the water
The kids loved this splash pad

Labor Day we went to a company party and got to hang out with our favs- the Henries.  Marisa let me take this picture with the kids.  Although there wasn't a big turnout with it being on a holiday, the kids had a lot of fun at the splash pad and playground.
